The following is shared from our partners at Easterseals and Case Manager Jeff Cannon:

Jeremy Butterfield came to Easterseals Oregon’s HVRP program seeking stability, direction, and the opportunity to move forward in his career. At the time, he was working only a few hours a week for the Redmond Cab Company; far from enough to support himself, grow professionally, or fully utilize his skills. He knew he was capable of more, and he was ready for a real opportunity.

Through a coordinated referral, Jeremy was connected with both STEP and the DVOP program, forming a collaborative team of partners dedicated to his success. Together, the team provided comprehensive support: interview preparation, job-seeking assistance, coaching, and direct employer advocacy on Jeremy’s behalf. Throughout the process, Jeremy remained engaged, motivated, and deeply appreciative of the collective effort being invested in his future.

That teamwork paid off. With unified support and Jeremy’s determination, he secured an Inventory Specialist position with BASX, earning $20.00 per hour. This role represented not only a significant financial improvement but also a valuable step forward in his long-term career path.

To set him up for success from day one, the STEP program purchased work boots and a gas card, ensuring transportation and safety on the job. Easterseals HVRP provided work clothing to complete his transition into employment with confidence and professionalism.

Jeremy’s journey is a powerful example of what can be achieved when partnership, perseverance, and purpose come together. We are collectively proud of the teamwork that helped him reach this milestone; and even more proud of Jeremy for embracing the opportunity, trusting the process, and stepping boldly into his new role.

Congratulations to Jeremy on this well-earned success. We celebrate his progress, his resilience, and the bright future ahead.
