East Cascades Works (EC Works) is excited to announce that Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) will serve as the new WIOA Title 1 Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth provider for Klamath County beginning July 1, 2026, following the conclusion of the recent competitive procurement.
In addition, EC Works has successfully secured a direct service waiver at the request of the Lake County Commissioners, therefore these same WIOA Title I services in Lake County will be delivered directly by East Cascades Works (EC Works), beginning July 1, 2026.
Klamath Works, the current provider, will be working with COIC and EC Works over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition and warm handoff for customers. During this transition, current jobseekers and employers engaged in Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth services in both Klamath and Lake counties will continue to be served by the current teams without a gap in service.
Services for Adults and Dislocated Workers in Klamath County will continue to take place within the local WorkSource Oregon office, located at: 801 Oak Avenue, Klamath Falls, OR.
Service locations for the Klamath County Youth Compass Programs are still being determined.
Local service continuity in Lake County will be maintained as the current staff member serving Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth programs continue in their role under EC Works at WorkSource Lakeview, 223 North F Street, Lakeview.
“We look forward to having COIC in the Klamath region and the connectivity they bring between the communities in North Klamath and South Deschutes Counties.” said Heather Ficht, Executive Director of EC Works. She further stated that, “Lake County is a special place in Oregon’s frontier community, and we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with their strong county leadership to directly serve the businesses and residents there.”
The Youth Compass Program in Klamath and Lake counties provides opportunities for young adults, ages 14–24, with an emphasis on disconnected or dropout youth between ages 16 through 21, to access the supports and skills training necessary to become successful members of the workforce. The Youth Compass Program focuses on education programs, career exploration, work experience, and job opportunities.
Adult and Dislocated Worker services, delivered at the WorkSource office, are for any adult who is at least 18years of age or older, selective service registered, legal to work in the U.S., and an Oregon resident. This program helps jobseekers with basic career services such as career exploration, resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation. Education and training scholarships and paid On-the-Job training opportunities are also available.
