The following is shared from Oregon Workforce Partnership:
As Worksystems approaches an important leadership transition this summer, we’re reflecting on where we’ve been and looking ahead with confidence and excitement.
After more than two decades leading Worksystems, Andrew McGough will retire at the end of June, closing a chapter defined by partnership, long-term vision, and deep commitment to the region’s workforce system.
In the latest episode of the Oregon Workforce Partnership’s Working Together podcast, Andrew sits down to reflect on his career of service — the people, partnerships, and moments that have shaped the work.
Georgia Conrad, Executive Director of the Oregon Workforce Partnership, shared this reflection:
“Andrew’s strategic leadership has been central to workforce development throughout Oregon and at the national level for more than 25 years. He has played a key role in building the innovative workforce system Oregon relies on today through his relentless vision and commitment to impact. Andrew has also been a trusted mentor and friend, and his influence on this work will be felt for years to come. I wish him the very best in retirement.”

In recent reflections shared with the Portland Business Journal, Andrew pointed to what has mattered most throughout his tenure: the people who make the system work.
“We have some of the best staff in the business, and we also have one of the better partner networks around. The organizations we work with understand what we do, and we understand what they do. It’s created a mutually beneficial model that allows us all to achieve our respective goals.”
— Andrew McGough, Worksystems
