Program Summary

The Youth Compass Program is a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth program that is a federally funded initiative aimed at supporting the career development and education of young individuals, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in the workforce. This program targets youth aged 16 to 24, particularly out-of-school youth and those facing barriers to education and employment. Through partnerships with Columbia Gorge Community College in our north subregion, Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council in our central subregion, and Klamath Works in our southern subregion, the WIOA Youth program offers a range of services, including educational support, skills training, mentorship, paid and unpaid internships, and job placement assistance. The overarching goal is to empower young people with the tools and resources needed to succeed in the labor market, fostering their economic independence and contributing to the overall vitality of communities.
